Exploring Jewish Liturgy

This weekend will offer a rare opportunity to study key texts from the Jewish tradition and uncover their purpose, history and meaning as well as how they intersect with our own spiritual journeys. Rabbi Howard Cooper will guide you in particular through passages from the Shabbat/Sabbath liturgy and that of the New Year and Day of Atonement. He writes: “As we venture along, we will discover both their original meanings and their meanings for us today, whatever our religious background.”

Rabbi Howard Cooper is an experienced workshop leader who has already led several, very well received, weekend workshops at Ammerdown. He is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist in private practice and the Director of Spiritual Development at Finchley Reform Synagogue. His last book was ‘The Alphabet of Paradise: An A-Z of Spirituality for Everyday Life’, and he blogs at howardcoopersblog.blogspot.com.

Led by: Rabbi Howard Cooper

Please arrive by 6pm on Friday. Course ends with lunch on Sunday.
