Exploring 'Letting Go' through an Art Therapy Approach

Art therapy is a form of expressive therapy that uses the creative process of making art to improve a person’s physical, mental and emotional well-being. When facilitated by a trained professional in a safe environment, art therapy can have a truly transforming effect on people’s lives – helping them find new ways of expressing themselves, explore emotions, reduce stress levels and improve self-esteem.

During this weekend, qualified art therapist Revd Robin Pfaff will help you explore the theme of ‘Letting Go’. He writes: “In the course of living we pick up, hang on to or are given matters to hold. After a while we may want to put down what we are carrying and wish to free ourselves by letting go, but can be worried about inviting change. My aim during the weekend will be to make you more aware of what you are holding on to that might have become burdensome, and help you free yourself up to grasp new opportunities and dream new dreams.”

Robin has been a senior chaplain in an NHS district general hospital in East London for over a decade. In his work he finds himself regularly alongside individuals and families who are confronted with major life changes. He is also a qualified Jungian art therapist.
