Celebrated retreat leader Margaret Silf is offering to take you on a journey into the future. She explains: “There are times in our lives, and in the life of our world, when ‘tomorrow’ can feel like an empty dream, or even a nightmare we would rather not contemplate; times when we almost do not dare to watch the TV news and wonder what kind of world our children will inherit. Despair can be a natural response, but is this the final story? What if ‘tomorrow’ is inviting us to grow into a reality greater than anything we can imagine - the kind of reality Jesus called ‘the Kingdom’? What if ‘tomorrow’ is calling us, coaxing us, towards the very best that humanity can become?
During this retreat we will explore what ‘tomorrow’ really means to us, helped by the insights of Pierrre Teilhard du Chardin and others into spiritual evolution. What possibilities hover within and around us, waiting to take shape in our future as a human family? Which of these possibilities are drawing us into greater fullness of life, and which are potentially destructive? How might we play our part personally in shaping the best possible version of ourselves and our world, to become the change we long for?
This is a journey for everyone who bears the name ‘human’, of any faith affiliation or none. No previous knowledge or reading is required.”
