Just Passing Through

It is easy to become ensnared by life’s dramas and forget who we are. This means we can lose perspective about what really matters. Being willing to acknowledge that we are ‘Just Passing Through’ and that death is, in fact, a journey into Light, helps us see the bigger picture, respect our own unique spiritual journeys and accept our mortality so we can make sense of our lives.

This weekend workshop provides an opportunity to take time out from our hectic world so we can explore the challenges of growing older, the major themes that often unconsciously run our lives, and the inevitability of our death. It will also give us a chance to reflect on what we may need to resolve or change to find more peace of mind.

There will be a variety of interactive learning experiences on offer - from group and pair work to individual meditation. The workshop is open to anyone who wants to deepen an understanding of themselves, and is also suitable for therapists and health workers who want to further their professional development.

Sue Brayne is passionate about helping people talk more openly and honestly about ageing, spirituality, and death and dying. She is a trained psychotherapist with a speciality in trauma and bereavement. She has an MA in the Rhetoric and Rituals of Death and a second MA in Creative Writing. Her books include ‘The D-Word: Talking about Dying’ and ‘Nearing the End of Life: a guide for relatives, friends and carers’. Sue is also an end-of-life researcher and runs workshops and retreats on ageing, death and dying.

She ran her ‘Just Passing Through’ weekend for the first time at Ammerdown last year and was very well received: “A consummate facilitator and teacher who held a lot of emotions in a sensitive and caring manner”; “What did I most value about Sue? Everything! Facilitation, knowledge, humour, sensitivity, kindness, to name but a few.”
