Learning to be at Home Part One and Part Two

Given the popularity of this retreat last year, we are delighted to be able to repeat it again in 2017. The full retreat is offered over two separate weekends (Part two will be held on 20 to 22 October) - although taking part in Part one does not mean that you have to commit to attending Part two.

The retreat will be facilitated by Sr Monica Butler, an experienced educator and spiritual director who has come to recognise that all we need is already present. She therefore passionately believes that the ‘task’ of our lives is to reclaim our true self.

Here is how Sr Monica describes the weekend: “It is a gentle coming-together of many aspects of our search for fulfilment. I describe it as a process of self-discovery in God. The aim is to connect more deeply with our true identity, through the integration of our entire life experience, both the joys and sorrows, the successes and failures. The process itself draws on the wisdom and mystical tradition of the five great world religions.

This can be an exciting and energising way of helping us claim the real ‘me’. We will work with a story about someone who became lost, and this will enable our own inner journey. There will be some input, conversation, energy work and time for reflective prayer. Above all, time just for you to BE!”

This first weekend will focus on ‘coming home to the soul’, the boundaries of the self, the masculine and feminine spirit within us. The second will explore the conscious and unconscious aspects of our being, and how we can recover our intuition and desire.

Given Sr Monica’s passion for, and dedication to, helping others discover who they truly are, it is hardly surprising that she received some superb feedback at the end of her previous Ammerdown retreats: “A very gifted and wise facilitator, who uses a range of techniques to ensure listening, engagement, and most importantly the building of a collective spirit”.

Please arrive by 6pm on Friday. Course ends with lunch on Sunday.
