Living Theology - I was a stranger

The Ammerdown Centre is delighted to welcome again this Living Theology weekend event on the theme of ‘I was a stranger’ – a topic very much at the heart of Ammerdown’s mission.

Living Theology was founded by the British Jesuit Province over fifty years ago, following Vatican II, to enable the laity to study aspects of Christian faith in the context of that great Council. Today, Living Theology’s special combination of teaching, discussion, liturgy and community continues to offer a unique opportunity to Christians of all denominations and those of other faiths to explore aspects of faith and belief together, in a warm and sympathetic environment.

The event co-ordinator writes: “Our 2017 lecturers, Nicholas King SJ and Michael Barnes SJ, are eminent in their fields. Nick, a biblical scholar, will look at the ways in which the Old and New Testaments insist on our looking after foreigners and the marginalised. Michael, a specialist in inter-religious relations, will draw on ideas and images that emerge from other cultures and religious traditions. Each will give three inter-connected lectures.”

Further details and information on how to book a place will be available on the Living Theology website (www.livingtheology.org.uk/Ammerdown) in the new year.

Please note that all the bookings will be taken by Living Theology, not the Ammerdown Centre.

Led by: NIcholas King SJ and Michael Barnes SJ

Please arrive by 5pm on Friday. Living Theology ends at 4pm on Sunday.
