Make Your Own Silver Jewellery

Please arrive by noon on Wednesday. Course finishes with lunch on Friday.

Pauline Payne is a freelance designer jeweller who has gained a number of prestigious awards for her work (see www.paulinepayne.co.uk). She has also been a successful and popular tutor for over twenty years.

Pauline came to Ammerdown for the first time in 2013 and received excellent feedback: “Pauline is amazingly patient and good-humoured as well as hard-working. She gave individual attention whenever needed for as long as necessary but managed to make everyone feel ‘well looked after’!”.

This course covers essential techniques such as saw piercing, soldering and polishing. You will start by making a silver band ring and progress by choosing to make items of your choice such as pendants, earrings, cufflinks, brooches and bangles. Under Pauline’s expert guidance, a keen student could leave with several hand-made items that will make wonderful mementos.

The course is suitable for complete beginners although it is also a great opportunity for students who wish to practice and extend any previously learnt skills at their own pace.

An extensive range of tools will be available and all materials can be purchased from the tutor.

* The fee does not cover the cost of material for the additional items you will choose to make. This cost should be in the region of £30 to £40, but will depend on the price of silver at the time and on what is made.

N.B. Pauline Payne will be repeating this course from Monday 29 September to Wednesday 1 October.
