Would you like to de-stress, have fun and meet new people? Would you like to move to vibrant eclectic music in an informal andfunway?Come to Helena Softley’s ‘Movement for Well being and Joy ’workshops, where she will lead you in simple dance movements to all styles of music, and help you experience the power of dance and self-expression.
Helena, a professional musician all her life, suffered a stroke in her early 40’s which resulted in her experiencing anxiety, depression, panic attacks and
a loss of confidence. Through dance movement she has re-built her physical, emotional and mental health, and now she wants to share the joy and power of dance with others. Dance is a way to reconnect with yourself and others, and being part of a group puts individuals ‘in tune’ with each other. It increases your physical fitness, and helps lift your mood. Dancing or singing in a group is said to synchronise heart rates and for Helena, dance has been transformational. She openly admits that it has changed her life!
Whether you already dance, have never danced, or have always wanted to immerse yourself freely in music, everyone is welcome – irrespective of age, gender, experience or ability. Find out what dance can do for you!
