Poetry, Prayer and Silence.

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” Anais Nin

Does poetry make your heart sing? Are you drawn to silent contemplation ? Are you interested in discovering new voices on your spiritual quest? Willing to explore different ways of praying? During this weekend we will immerse ourselves in the poetry of autumn: the season of harvest, of letting go, of preparation for the quiet darkness of winter.

We will read and discuss poems, sit in silence together, write our own haikus, share our insights, worship together and reflect on our own life journey.

There will be some opportunity for walking in the beautiful gardens and time on your own.

Sue Glanville has broad and varied experience of teaching, church leadership, coaching and spiritual direction. She has been writing and organising courses and retreats since 2005, including many at Ammerdown, and also involving visits to Dartmoor, Bardsey, Lundy and Iona Islands, as well as trekking in the Himalayas. Sue loves wild spaces and exploring the many ways that we can encounter God in our lives.

A recent participant wrote, ‘Thank you, Sue, for a deeply moving, thought provoking experience and for the great care and thought with which you led us’.
