Praying with Music - Gerald Finzi - Mystic and Stranger

“The course was inspirational and life affirming”, “Euan’s personality and his style, compassion, integrity and yet light touch have made it a memorable weekend, the best ever at Ammerdown”. These are just some of last year's comments from participants in Euan Tait's Praying with Music weekend!

Euan returns this year with a retreat of wonder-full English music. He writes: “Finzi looks into the human heart and asks us to rediscover the beauty of our humanity, the constant newness of our vision of the world, our own unique song. Yet his music also faces and engages with our heart's struggle with honesty and clear-sightedness, and it is these qualities that make it such a powerful force for our prayer life.”

Euan will guide you in exploring ‘Dies Natalis’ as well as ‘Intimations of Immortality’, helping you discover the music as if for the first time and allow it to deepen your relationship with God, while being close to the natural beauty which infuses Ammerdown.

No need to be a specialist - just a person with a love of music and an open heart.

Euan is a singer and double bass player as well as an experienced trainer, liturgist, poet and preacher. He was until 2013 a resident member of staff at Ammerdown. He leads retreats across the country and is a professional librettist as well as a lecturer in English and Creative Writing.

Led by: Euan Tait

Please arrive 6pm Friday. Course ends with lunch on Sunday.
