Praying with Music - Vaughan Williams, the singing pilgrim

“Euan promised to take us on an unusual and enriching journey, and he delivered his promise. He was thoughtful and insightful throughout, yet his touch was light, and his joy in sharing his love of music with others was inspirational. I could not fault him on anything!”.

This year Euan Tait will share with you his love of Vaughan Williams’ music but once again in a way that is rarely explored: as the starting point of a spiritual journey and voyage of discovery.

Euan writes: “Vaughan Williams’ music is essentially a music of pilgrimage, and his is a vision of a life journey where we are never alone, but surrounded by love and mercy through the communion of saints. This gentle weekend will, through a mixture of talks, listening to music, quiet reflection and prayer, allow us to experience Williams’ beautiful music deeply, focusing on the Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis, the Sea Symphony and the opera Pilgrim’s Progress.”

Euan Tait is a gifted musician and singer as well as an experienced trainer and preacher. He was until last year a member of Ammerdown’s resident community. (visit www.euantait.co.uk for more information on Euan)
