Quiet Days - Transitions of Life

A day to be still and reflect on times of transition in our ordinary lives: new beginnings, joys and sorrows, death and dying. We gather together in the quiet space of Ammerdown to reflect on our lives and our spiritual journey, through readings, prayer, music and meditation. During the time for quiet reflection, you are welcome to walk around the grounds or up into the woods; walk the labyrinth; rest in the peace of the garden; spend time in the Chapel; use the art materials provided; and journal. This Quiet Day will be led by Christine Clinch and Rev Narinder Tegally.

Each Quiet Day will be led by two of the four facilitator team Narinder Tegally, Jan Mojsa, Robin Harvey and Christine Clinch. Rev Narinder Tegally joined Bath RUH Trust as the new Lead Chaplain in May 2017. Previously she was a Parish Priest in Buckinghamshire as well as Chaplain to the Royal Free Hospital, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital and the Evelina Children’s Hospital in London. Before she was ordained in 2002, Narinder was a Registered Nurse working in both Palliative Care and Mental Health for young people. She is also a qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor and Supervisor and has led Quiet Days; Retreats through use of Food, Guided Meditation and Contemplative Prayer; and has led Pilgrimages to the Holy Land. Dr Jan Mojsa is an ordained Buddhist Chaplain and psychotherapist. She is also Visiting Fellow at Bournemouth University. She completed her chaplaincy training with the internationally renowned programme at Upaya Zen Centre in Santa Fe with Roshi Joan Halifax. She works from an interfaith perspective equally supporting those with no faith. She is the founder of a compassionate community project in Westbury Wiltshire. Rev Robin Harvey conducted research, teaching and fieldwork in Physical Anthropology for 20 years before entering the ordained ministry of the Church of England. Since then he has held posts in Keynsham, Guildford (as a University Chaplain) and Worcester Park. As a retired Vicar he finds great fulfilment both in Spiritual Accompaniment and as a Chaplaincy Volunteer at RUH in Bath. Brought up in a Methodist home, Christine Clinch graduated in theology and has lived in Africa, South East Asia and Australia working in education, the church and on a variety of community projects. Currently, she is the Education and Spiritual Manager at the Ammerdown Centre.
