Reclaiming the Mind through Meditation and Mindfulness

'Meditation' and 'mindfulness' are often mentioned together these days in connection with boosting physical and emotional well-being - all the more relevant in our busy, digital, and pressurised world.

Meditation helps calm our minds and bodies. Mindfulness helps us be 'in the moment' and experience afresh the world around us. It also helps us become more aware of our thoughts and feelings and of how easy it can be to get caught up in a web of negativity and anxiety.

This three day course will give you the key concepts and ways of meditation and mindfulness, with plenty of opportunities to practise.

You will be introduced to several forms of meditation and helped to learn to be 'in the moment'. Our hope is that, by the time you leave, you will have a sure foundation on which to build a personal and varied meditation practice at home. You will also have learnt and practised simple steps to becoming more 'mindful' in all areas of your life - an approach described as 'life-changing' by many.

This course will be led by Hilary Armstrong, who has taken the Mindful-Based Cognitive Therapy training with Oxford University, and the Mindfulness- Based Stress Reduction course with Exeter University.  Since 1991 she has studied with many distinguished Meditation teachers, especially at Samye Ling Tibetan Centre in Scotland.  Since 2007 Hilary has been running courses and retreats in the West Country.

Led by: Hilary Armstrong
