Singing for Wellbeing

Helena Softley’s workshops are informal and great fun! A 6 week course of 1.5 hour sessions

A professional singer/songwriter for over 30 years, she covers all styles of music; from Folk and Blues,Rock and Gospel, to pop songs you know and love. Her relaxed style of teaching is easy to follow. Thereis no need to read music as all songs are taught by ear. Singing is a natural anti-depressant, it lowersstress levels, improves mental alertness, improves posture, strengthens the immune system, and mostof all – it’s fun! Singing is a way to reconnect with yourself and others, and being part of a group putsindividuals ‘in tune’ with each other. Dancing or singing in a group is even said to synchronise heart rates!

These workshops will revitalise and energise you. Although you’ll be learning and improving, the emphasis is firmly on fun! Helena has worked as a professional musician all her life, composing and performing all over the world in concerts, on radio and TV. She has written TV theme tunes, worked as a television presenter, festival organizer, stage manager, musical director and dance workshop leader. As well as her live performances, she is now in demand as a singing workshop leader where she incorporates her varied musical experience and talent for writing parts and harmonies into a fun and informal singing session.

£5.00 per session or to book all six sessions at £25.00 please call the centre.
