The Inn at the Crossroads

Much loved retreat leader Margaret Silf is inviting you to join her on a journey – a journey to Emmaus. She writes: “After Jesus’ death, two disconsolate friends walk along the road to Emmaus, feeling disappointed and bewildered. They are joined by the risen, though still unrecognised, Jesus, who tells them their own story in a new way. When they reach the crossroads they persuade him to have supper with them at the inn. What happens next will change their whole view of themselves.

During this weekend we will make our own ‘Emmaus’ journey, looking back over what we may see as failure and disappointment in our own lives and in the bigger story, and looking forward with anxiety to the uncertain future that lies ahead, and we will join the risen Jesus for supper at the inn at the crossroads, and discover for ourselves what happens when we let him tell us our own story in the light of his eternal wisdom.”

Margaret Silf is an ecumenical lay Christian, committed to working across and beyond the denominational divides and to accompanying people on their spiritual journey. She is the author of a number of books on the spiritual journey for 21st century pilgrims who may or may not identify with institutional religion. She is a regular and much-loved contributor at Ammerdown: “Margaret is wonderful: gentle, simple and holy”; “She always manages to be deeply spiritual and yet down at everyone’s level”; “Margaret Silf is a brilliant retreat leader with authority but also a light touch and a great sense of humour. One can’t fault her”.

* Margaret is staying on to run a Monday to Friday retreat the following week. We are offering a special rate of £645 for both events and the stay in-between.

Led by: Margaret Silf

Please arrive 6pm Friday. Course ends with lunch on Sunday.
