The Laughter of Mercy: Mozart’s “Marriage of Figaro”

Mozart’s most joyful, witty and compassionate visions of the human heart, his greatest spiritual insights, are to be found in his Da Ponte operas, and in Figaro he explores, with freeing laughter, the reality of being human, the mess people make of their everyday relationships, yet the draw we all experience towards mercy, through vulnerable, forgiving love. Euan’s sessions will combine reflective talks with listening to the music. The retreat builds on Ammerdown’s creative tradition of exploring spirituality in fresh and unusual ways.
