Expert Knitting Tutor Fiona Morris will focus this time on Entrelac Knitting and variations. She writes:
“Entrelac is a much underused knitting technique which can produce stunning results. In its most basic
form worked in stocking stitch it creates a basket weave type fabric. However, the technique can be
worked using lots of different stitch patterns, and it can also be worked seamlessly. There are also
alternative variations which create a similar fabric but do not require to keep picking up stitches”.
Led by: Fiona Morris
Please arrive by 6pm on Friday. Course ends with lunch on Sunday.
Expert Knitting Tutor Fiona Morris returns to Ammerdown to lead a weekend course on Entrelac Knitting and variations. She writes: “Entrelac is a much underused knitting technique which can produce stunning results. In its most basic form worked in stocking stitch it creates a basket weave type fabric. However, the technique can be worked using lots of different stitch patterns, and it can also be worked seamlessly. There are also alternative variations which create a similar fabric but do not require the knitter to keep picking up stitches”.
During the weekend Fiona will teach you the basic Entrelac technique worked in stocking stitch and show you a number of variations. If you prefer to work on a project rather than just samples, there will be a circular scarf project which can be started during the weekend and which covers working seamlessly as well as the basic technique.
The course is suitable for knitters of various levels but not complete beginners.
Participants will be sent at the time of booking a list of materials which they will need to bring.
