Ian Adams returns to Ammerdown by popular demand to guide us through a series of practices to help us to travel well through both good and demanding times.
Ian will draw on insights from traditional monasticism, modern jazz and contemporary art, and from the timeless experience of the contemplatives. The weekend will have a gentle community ethos, with a mix of teaching, conversation, stillness and spiritual practice. We will look to learn from various spiritual traditions, and explore the particular gifts of the ancient Jesus pathway. If the weather is helpful, some of the sessions will be outside: we will do some body prayer, observe nature and create some earth-art together.
Ian Adams is an Anglican priest who is a writer, poet, teacher and artist working with themes of spirituality, prayer, culture and community. He is the creator of the daily Morning Bell call to prayer and author of ‘Cave Refectory Road: monastic rhythms for contemporary living’. Ian is a director of the StillPoint project which nurtures spiritual practice from within the Christian contemplative-active stream.
