Course Information:
You are invited to Ammerdown for a gentle led-retreat this Easter. Join us as we contemplate the Holy Week accounts found in the Gospels.
This exciting spiritual programme balances times of guided spiritual reflection (considering what the Easter story says to each of us) with ample time and space to reflect, pray, read, walk or write – or simply to unwind, refresh and feel renewed as you experience the tranquility of Ammerdown’s beautiful peace garden and labyrinth, relax outdoors, and walk through the woods.
Led by Rupert Kaye, Ammerdown’s Chaplain, we will reflect on the Easter story through a series of guided meditations. We will consider why Christians believe the death and resurrection of Jesus is more than the ultimate plot twist. It represents a pivotal turning point in human history. Just when it seemed that all was lost … as the promised King had been publicly humiliated, crucified to death and his lifeless body laid to rest in a tomb … God raised Jesus back to life, proving three things:
- Jesus really is the long-promised Messiah
- The grave is not the final chapter in a human life
- No matter how hard and hopeless things seem, there is always hope
Come along to discover how, because of Jesus’ resurrection, each and every one of us can live a life that is: forgiven, purposeful, powerful and eternal.
Please bring:
Clothing and footwear that will be comfortable and suitable for the garden and any walking you may want to do in your free time.
A journal and something to write with (optional ).
