Course Information:

Kintsugi means "golden joinery", is a Japanese method of ceramic repair that involves mending broken pieces of plates and other ceramic objects with a gold /silver lacquer or dust.

Symbolizes strength - by bringing broken fragments together, strengthened with gold - and thereby giving them a new life.

Using broken pottery, we will create new objects - giving the pieces a new life (using gold/ silver paint/glue).

The Art of ‘Kintsugi’ is a metaphor for resilience, a process of healing and beauty in brokenness. The actual steps to complete the task of repair can been described as slow and methodical, perhaps even meditative.

No matter how broken you may feel, God is eager to do his Kintsugi work in you. Let him bring you wholeness by turning to him in repentance and faith. His power is made in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9) and the beauty of his work in you will make a difference to the lives of people around you.

Materials will be provided but please feel free to bring something of sentiment that has been broken (e.g a broken vase) that could be given new life.
